Savannah turned 18 months on December 26th. She had her 18 month appointment with the Dr. yesterday. She is now 24.2 pounds (50th percentile) and 32 3/4 inches (90th percentile). It looks like she may be tall like her daddy. She has consistently stayed in the 75th-90th percentile in her height since she was 2 months old. Unfortunately, she ended up sick the night before her appointment so it became a well and sick visit. She has had a temp. of 100-101 for the last 3 days. Her little eyes and nose are runny like crazy, she has a really nasty wet cough, and is very hoarse when she talks. The Dr. said he thinks it is just an upper respiratory virus. I am listening to her cough as she sleeps in her bed while I am writing this. Poor thing! I hate it when she doesn't feel well!
Savannah's vocabulary has boomed in the last month. She is now able to repeat pretty much everything you say and is regularly saying short sentences to communicate with you. My favorite things she says right now are "Excuse me mama", "we'll be back" (she tells our dog Bo this when we are heading out the door, and "I don't know" (she will put her little hands up by her face when saying this...it is SO cute!). She has gotten very good at using a spoon and fork. She tries to sing the ABC's. You can easily understand her say A..B...C...D, but then it gets fuzzy. She can count to 3. She is still interested in the potty and practices going on it several times a day. I am taking it VERY slow and letting her decide when she wants to use it. She will run to the bathroom several times a day while she is going in her diaper/pull up. I will let her still sit on it and try. However, she does successfully potty in the big girl potty on average 1-2 times a day. She also has recently learned how to open our gates at the stairs. Therefore, Joel had to revamp them to add an extra lock. Savannah is really becoming a little toddler. I am enjoying watching her learn new things each day. I will post some new pictures of her soon!

She's doing all these things at 18 months? That's amazing! Do you think she's advanced for her age? Maybe a genius? Love, Aunt Debi
Hi Andrea! I have heard a lot about you through Margaret! Savannah is so cute -- and a little smartie, too! My son, GIbson, is seventeen months old as of yesterday, and he is not doing half of that! He is really cute, though, so that makes up for it!
Hey girl, was just catching up on your blog some and had a dose of reality hit me! Aubrey just had her 6 month check up (at 7 months old! oops) on Fri and she is now 20 lbs (pushing Savannah's 24lbs)!!! LOL...she was literally off the "percentile curve". Then I get the "you make some good milk" comment! "Whatever" I thought... its ok to just tell me my kids' are chunks! =)
Way to go!!! She is doing great!!!
