Today is Savannah's 1st birthday! As I look back at the past year I have so many joys and memories that I will cherish in my heart always!
Looking Back: On October 30, 2006 after year of trying and a hysterosalpingogra I finally saw those 2 pink lines that I so desperately had been waiting for. I was thrilled that I was finally going to be a mommy! My pregnancy was great and seemed to be going perfect until I hit 30 weeks when I started having preterm labor. For the next six weeks I was put on complete bed rest and ordered to take medicine to keep my contractions at bay. On June 25th at 9:36pm, at 37 weeks, and 5 days after coming off bed rest, my water broke. As we drove to the hospital I had a thousand emotions running through my body. I was scared, yet excited! The day I had dreamed about for so long was finally here. We arrived at the hospital and I was already 4 cm dilated. Little did we know we were in for a very long and rough ride. After 18 1/2 grooling hours of labor, only progressing to 9 cm. , having my epidural tube get kinked and stop working 3 different times, and just bypassing an emergency cesarean....Savannah was finally born sunny-side up during the third and final try using a vacuum, leaving her mama with a terrible 4th degree tear! Although recovering from such a terrible tear felt at times more than I could bear....she was worth every bit!!!
She is our little angel who melts our hearts with every smile and kiss! She is a bundle of joy and is truly what I live for everyday! She has filled our lives with so much love and happiness that I didn't even know was missing! Our house now feels like a home! She loves to give kisses! It is so cute and sweet! They are open mouthed and slobbery, but the very best! She is so curious about the world around her and is always pointing her cute little chunky finger asking "that". She also loves to dance to any music. One of my favorite times with her each day is in the evening before bed when she snuggles with her daddy and I to read a few of her favorite books. She has developed such a cute little personality. She is such a happy baby and loves to be a little ham and have all the attention on her. She doesn't know a stranger and waves and talks to everyone she passes. Each morning that I wake up and hear her saying "da-da-da" over and over in her bed I smile and thank God for giving us such a wonderful blessing! This past year has been so incredible....I can only imagine how wonderful the upcoming years will be!
